Capt. Brian’s 23 Dorado is built by craftsmen in Tarpon Springs, Fl. It is the perfect boat for backwater and nearshore fishing that Clearwater and Tampa Bay have to offer.

This boat is fast, stable, and can jump up in shallow water, cutting through the chop of rough seas while keeping you safe and dry. It’s light enough to float close to mangroves where Snook and Redfish hide, yet quietly float over the grass flats where we’ll see Trout scooting across the sea floor. Many times, we need to quickly and safely reach areas off of Clearwater Beach and other Tampa Bay areas. This is where you’ll find Tarpon daisy chaining nearshore, while Grouper and Snapper are inhabiting the rockpiles within site of land, just a few miles offshore. There’s nothing more exciting than Clearwater fishing and hooking into exciting sportfish using light tackle from a properly rigged boat.

Accessories on Capt Brian’s Boat

Capt. Brian’s 23 Dorado uses a Suzuki 200HP four stroke motor for efficient power. Capt. Brian’s boat is also equipped with a Porta-Bracket for raising and lowering the motor, as well as Lenco trim tabs, allowing us to easily plane off in shallow water. Capt. Brian uses a Motor Guide trolling motor to sneak up on Redfish near mangroves, or maneuver along rock jetties in search of big Snook. While on shallow flats, a Power Pole anchor can easily stop the boat before spooking our targeted species. For offshore fishing, a Garmin Fishfinder/GPS assures that you are on the fish every time. Comfortably seating the Captain and four anglers, there is plenty of space for light tackle fishing. A 45 gallon baitwell holds hundreds of baits, as well as gamefish caught throughout the day. The boat also offers dry storage for valuables, like cameras, cell phones and car keys.

Wadefishing from Capt. Brian’s 23 Dorado

If you don’t mind occasionally wading, the low sides allow easy access in and out of the boat. Sometimes getting out and wading is the only way to get those finicky Snook or Redfish to bite. Now that’s flats fishing at it’s best!
