Most of our Clearwater charter fishing trips begin early in the morning. We meet at the Ozona Fish Camp, or another location we’ve arranged. I provide the fishing license for children and adults alike. I also provide ice and drinks like water and sodas, however, you are encouraged to bring whatever food and drinks you might prefer (no glass). You should also bring lots of sunblock, (even in winter), sunglasses, a hat, shoes that can get a little wet, a light jacket in the cool months and a raincoat in the summer months.

On most days, I’ve already left the dock prior to your arrival to net bait for the day, usually scaled sardines, also called greenbacks. I’ll chum with a special mixture of ingredients to attract the baitfish. Then, after spotting them in the chum line, I will throw a large cast net. Once in the baitwell, I head back to the marina to clean up the boat, and wait for our departure. After greeting and stowing away belongings, we are ready to go fishing the backwaters of our gorgeous Clearwater, Florida area.

I will supply all the tackle you will need to fish all day long. I have top of the line equipment and always have my gear serviced and cleaned for use. My gear consists of Penn Reels, St. Croix Rods, and Owner fish hooks. I line all my rods with Ultra Cast fishing line and Seaguar Fluorocarbon leader material. These products are the best on the market. However, some people like to use their own tackle. That’s great, as long as you are open to some suggestions on rigging for the local Clearwater area gamefish.

Sights and Sounds while Clearwater Charter Fishing

Throughout the day we may see many different and rare sights. Porpoise playfully foraging on schools of mullet, spotted rays leaping high into the air, or ospreys diving to grab small fish right out of the water. The areas surrounding Clearwater and Tampa Bay are some of the most beautiful in the world, and there is no better place to see them than from the deck of a boat on a Clearwater charter fishing trip!
